I'm Paul Stott

Director of Product, energy nerd, and builder of tools for the energy transition.

I've spent 20+ years proving that boring industries make the best playgrounds for innovation. I tackle complex B2B energy challenges and transform them into products that customers love.

The Longer Version

I've spent over 20 years working at the intersection of energy and technology. What started as a Business Analyst role at npower evolved through operations leadership into a focus on how software can make energy markets more accessible and sustainable.

I spent 12 years at Optima Energy, progressing from Bureau Manager to Operations Director — learning that the best products come from deeply understanding both the domain and the people using them. That insight led me to product management, and I've now spent 7 years at True Group building platforms that help businesses make smarter energy decisions.

In 2024, I completed a Master's in User Experience Design at Falmouth University — because I believe creating transparency in markets that have traditionally thrived on opacity requires obsessing over how people actually use the tools we build.

What drives me: turning energy and sustainability into a competitive advantage, building product teams that ship fast and think customer-first, and making complex things simple.
